Origin

The Zoomer Wojak crystallized on imageboards around 2018: a grinning kid with a colored haircut, hyped on battle royales and energy drinks, speaking in a dialect updated hourly.

Rise

As actual Gen Z came of age, the zoomer archetype absorbed each wave of its slang and platforms — from Fortnite dances to “rizz” — becoming the internet's shorthand for youth itself.
