Shiba

SHIBA is the roster's samurai — the polite, katana-disciplined face of the Shiba Inu, the Japanese dog breed that somehow became the official mascot species of an entire asset class.

Origin

The breed's meme career began with Kabosu, the rescued Shiba behind Doge. But SHIBA's own lineage runs through Shiba Inu (SHIB), the token launched in August 2020 by the anonymous developer known as Ryoshi, which branded itself the “Dogecoin killer” and turned the dog from a meme into a movement.

Rise

SHIB's 2021 run was one of the most violent in memecoin history, minting a self-described ShibArmy of millions. In one of crypto's most famous gestures, roughly half the supply had been parked with Vitalik, who burned the bulk of it and donated a headline-making portion to charity in 2021 — instantly canonizing both parties in meme-finance lore. The ecosystem later grew its own exchange and layer-2 network, proof that a joke can grow infrastructure.

SHIBA is the disciplined middle child of the dog dynasty: heir to Doge, elder sibling to the Solana-born pups Bonk and WIF, and forever bound to Vitalik by the burn that made the legend.
