The Bogdanoffs — Igor and Grichka — were French television's twin science presenters who, through decades of increasingly sculptural plastic surgery and a fog of genuine mystery, became crypto's favorite illuminati: the men who, legend insists, call every top and bottom of the market.

Origin

The twins hosted the French sci-fi program Temps X beginning in 1979 and later earned controversial physics doctorates that sparked the “Bogdanov affair” in academia. Their transformed appearance and eerie twin-speak made them internet curiosities long before crypto found them.

Rise

Around 2016–2017, imageboard culture crowned them cosmic puppet-masters via the “quick rundown” copypasta — “bogpilled”, “in contact with aliens”, “rumoured to possess psychic abilities”. Crypto Twitter then canonized the “He bought? Dump it.” phone-call meme: the definitive explanation for why the market reverses the moment you enter a trade. The twins died within days of each other around the turn of 2022, an ending so uncanny it only deepened the mythology.
